Declared Irreparable

Ifix in the mall of Africa handed back two of my phones, an iphone5 and and iphone6 saying they were both irreparable.
I gave my iphone5 to my gardener who took it somewhere and had it repaired for a mere R800.
it is the first time I used that branch of ifix , would not recommend to anyone.

Hi Mari
Water damage is unfortunately quite a complex phenomenon to resolve. For example , while still present, the corrosion patches continuity and specific functionality, which falls away once the water damage has been removed. Conversely once the corrosion has been washed away the device can regain functionality over a period of time.
In your case, it seems that the decision to declare your devices irreparable may have been premature. We are however glad that your persistence has paid off.
We apologise for the inconvenience and are ready to assist in any way, should you decide to make use of our services in future.
Kind regards
