Appalling Service and Further Damage to the Phone
Had a real bad experience at weFix Canal Walk this past weekend.
The phone was dropped and needed a new screen. Assessment was done on 21 Dec and then they needed to order the parts as other components were also affected.
We then took back to phone and after notification that the parts were there, we took it in on 24/01/2021. The job was to take 1-2 hours.
We walked around in the mall and went back after +- 2 hours to see how far they are only to be told further damage was incurred on the motherboard and as a result the SIM can no longer be read. It would've been nice if they could phone me to say that they can't do the repair but instead did nothing until we came back.
Now the phone was working perfectly between 21 Dec and 24 January and now all of a sudden the SIM can't be read.
The more I try to explain this the more they blame the SIM for the issue causing the damage. The SIM was cut by Vodacom into a Nano SIM size and has been working perfectly fine since 2018.
The technician on the 21st of Dec also disassembled the phone to do the damage assessment and reassembled it again in working order. This technician is however no longer employed at this branch.
A new technician opened up the phone to be repaired and in the process damaged it even more.
Appalling service and the phone was damaged further. Would not recommend. Still trying to sort out with insurance.
