All data lost on Iphone 5C
On Wednesday the 10th of February I booked my Iphone 5C in at the Glen Ifix store for an assessment as the phone was not reading sim cards. When booked in the phone had all data available and easily accessible. I received the quote that afternoon and accepted this. On Friday I was contacted by the technician and informed that the problem could not be resolved. I fetched the phone on Saturday only to discover that in performing a software update the technician had completely wiped my phone of ALL data. No one at the store told me this and I only discovered this when I had left the store. The technician apologised but when I asked why I was not informed of the risk of losing everything, I was told that I should have received a call telling me this. I received no such call. After being promised that the manager would contact me by Monday, you can imagine my frustration when I had to contact the manager myself on Wednesday. She promised to investigate and call me back. I never heard from the manager again but was contacted by the technician who again apologised but I have yet to hear any feedback from the manager! I am very unhappy with this service!

While I was contacted by the manager on the day of submitting this complaint, this has not done much to restore my faith in the ifix store. Having contacted me and offering to send my phone in for data recovery, I was asked on the same day to update my complaint on hello Peter. I declined to do so and rightfully so given that even after failing to recover the data, it became clear that the manager was still unaware that my phone had all data when booked in and it was the technician that wiped this, not me. Again, they offered to try and resolve this and keep me constantly updated. The only update I got was when I called in myself to check and more recently I have received two emails to say my device is irreparable and I must collect. Given their wrong doing I expected a phone call. What will it take for someone to take responsibility and acknowledge that it was an ifix technician who wiped my phone?
