A Botched job and bad customer service!
VERY disappointed in their customer service!
In June 2020 I had a fall and in the process dropped my phone. It landed on the top right corner and had physical damage in the corner due to the fall. There was also a black spot forming in that corner. Took my phone to weFix in Cresta to get it fixed and was quoted R2999 for a screen replacement. I was very impressed because the next day my phone was ready HOWEVER when I switched it back on it was still flashing in the top right corner AND it was ghost typing (sometimes also didn’t respond when i tapped the screen).
I took it back the next day and booked it in for a reassessment. They told me they can’t fix it and that is how my phone is going to be. But that I do have a 6 month warranty if anything else happens.
Skip a few months forward, last week Wednesday I take my phone out of its cover FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE I GOT IT BACK FROM WEFIX and my screen was completely detached from the rest of my phone (my cover was the only thing keeping it together). This explained all the ghost typing and no response when touching it.
After taking it to weFix i was told that they can’t fix it under the warranty “because it’s physically damaged”. When the technician explained to me how he can fix this damage it also drew my attention to the fact that this should have been fixed with the first appointment back in June (it was part of the screen that they apparently replaced). This “physical damage” is the damage they supposedly fixed in June when I payed for a screen replacement.
No matter how many times i explained to the technician the story, he refused to fix my phone under the warranty and said that they can quote me for another R2999 screen replacement.
This damage was supposed to be fixed back in June but the technician obviously did not do a good job. This was the type of faulty event that should have been covered by my warranty. Very disappointed in how they completely botched the fix in the first place.
On top of all this, when I then asked the technician to give my phone back to me because I had to leave for another appointment, he refused to give my phone to me until the lady at the front desk told him to. I’m definitely NOT going back to them for any fixing of my devices!
We trust you are well and having a good week thus far.
We have used your cell number to locate your job/s on our system. We are truly sorry for the service you feel you have received from our store.
1. You had your device booked in with us for a screen replacement on the 29th June 2020 Screen was replaced and device tested OK.
2. You had then returned on the 14th July advising that the screen was flickering and freezing. Our representative then booked your device in and the technician did a full assessment. As per his assessment he could not replicate the fault you were describing/experiencing.
You were contacted and then collected your device,
3. On the 10th October 2020 you returned to the store as your screen was lifting, The FOH made you aware of the physical damage on the device which caused the screen to pop out. Your device had been dropped.
As per the comments on the job you had acknowledged that you dropped your device and advised that you will return to the store at a later stage.
We will be giving you a call to further discuss and potentially resolve accordingly.
Kind regards
weFix
