"authorized" service center with improper conduct

I have been insured with MTN Device Insurance for two years, I recently filed a claim for speaker damage on my phone. After the weeks of having to follow up to find out if my claim was approved it finally got collected on the 23 July 2020.

The phone was supposedly repaired and returned on the 19th August 2020, almost a month later. The phone was returned with the battery completely dead and when trying to charge it, it wouldn't recognize any Apple charger regardless of how many I tried. The phone would completely reset every time I tried to restore my backed up data because it was unable to hold sufficient charge even while directly connected to powder. Eventually I got the phone to restore only for it to tell my that it did not recognized the phone battery as a Genuine Apple Product. This is now a warning that constantly displays on the screen and along with that the battery lasts no more than 20min after a full charge, getting extremely hot when it does decide to charge. On further research this is a safety mechanism built into the phone, warning users of third party "certified repair centers" that use **** parts.

After paying premiums loyally for two years for the full value of R23 000 for a brand new Iphone XR only to be sent to a service center that replaces brand new original parts with **** parts is completely unacceptable.

The integrity of the entire device has been compromised, as far as I'm concerned the proper recourse would be to replace the device completely because should I ever have to take the device to Apple in future for technical support I will be turned away because they cannot guarantee the device after this.

This device was in perfect condition when it was sent in for a simple speaker repair and has come back with more issues than it started with. I am not repaired to send my phone back to this service center through MTN insurance only to be without a phone for another month and receive this dishonest service.

I still can't believe that my genuine apple battery was replaced with a **** one, preying on unknowing customers is truly improper conduct.
