Poor service and communication

My name is Mothusi, I would like to raise my dissatisfaction with your service.

I got my car approved for repairs from my insurance including car hire which I told my claims officer to ensure is done because I live in a remote area.

Last week I booked my car for repairs at the Noordkaap Panel Beaters in Kimberly for Tuesday and I had sent a mail to equire about the car hire. I then decided to call this morning around 8 to ask that the insurance arrange because I called the penal beater and they told me insurance handles it.

During the call we confirmed a car hire and I recieved an sms with a number to call and I confirmed that I am in Kimberly and the nearest hire was Avis. I then called and the consultant told me that Avis doesn't have cars today. It can only be done tomorrow and the call ended. I then got an SMA confirming a booking tomorrow morning.

I drove approximately 200kms from Postmasburg to Kimberly and she is essentially saying I must come to Kimberly again tomorrow is that fair and at whose expense?

I then cancelled it because tomorrow I am at work and I cannot come again to Kimberly since I don't have the leave day for tomorrow.

I then called Kelly one of the consultants (third time calling) who I explained my situation to and what I got from the conversation is that I am to blame because had I asked before I wouldn't be in this predicament. I don't know if this is how you treat your loyal customers?

She further said why did I go to Avis if they didn't confirm that the car is available and I said to her I was of the impression that the car is there and that I didn't need to be picked or dropped off because of the confirmation SMS. The issue is that its today and I needed a rental vehicle which I pay every month for this conveniences in case my car is not available and I was told Avis has no cars.

So my question is do I drive back to Postmasburg that's another 200kms then I should come again tomorrow? That is 400km. I am sorry this doesn't make sense.

I am sorry but I am not spending more money to bring my car to Kimberly because I came today and Absa is telling me is neither their fault or Avis fault which means that its my fault. Which I can again ask if it was my fault for someone to reverse on to me. To be honest I am so unhappy with what happened today and I am going to drive back home. Absa should let me know when they will book my car and when my hired car will be available for the period my car is being fixed. It is so sad that I have to go through this and absa tells me its my fault
