Poor Repair Quality and Lack of Post-Repair Inspection
Dear Absa Activate Representative,
I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding the recent handling of my vehicle repairs following an accident, which was processed through Absa Activate.
After the accident, my vehicle was towed to a panel beater from your recommended list. The panel beater conducted an initial assessment and recommended the replacement of several panels, along with a full body respray. However, the Absa Activate assessor reviewed the case and overruled this, opting against the recommendations from the panel beater.
The vehicle was subsequently repaired according to the assessor’s instructions. However, upon inspecting the car at the time of collection, I noticed several defects and opted to leave it behind for corrections. These defects included: Misaligned panels Overspray on repaired surfaces Visible dents caused by paint bubbles that have since burst
These issues are clear signs of poor workmanship. What concerns me further is that no Absa Activate representative returned to inspect the quality of the repairs. As the client, I had to assess the work myself and follow up on the defects.
This experience has been extremely frustrating and falls far below the standard of service I expect from a reputable insurer and its accredited service providers. I have been significantly inconvenienced not only by the poor workmanship, but also by the additional travel costs incurred for multiple trips to and from the panel beater. Furthermore, the repair process exceeded the originally stipulated timeframe, adding to my frustration.
I respectfully request that Absa Activate investigate this matter as a priority and provide clarity on the corrective actions that will be taken to resolve the defects and ensure my vehicle is restored to an acceptable standard.
