No response to my claim
I am writing to formally express my significant concern and dissatisfaction regarding the handling of my claim.
On January 24, 2025, I reported the collapse of a boundary wall at my residence located at 333 Columbine Avenue, Mondeor. An assessor from ABSA visited to assess the damage on January 27 and again on January 28. Two days later, I received a call from ABSA inquiring whether the second assessor had come to my property. Despite multiple communications with ABSA HOC and direct emails, I have only received automated replies.
In all my correspondence, I have emphasized that my home is situated on a busy road with heavy traffic, leaving it exposed to various risks due to the lack of security. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive any meaningful response.
I have been a loyal client of ABSA since 2002, during which time ABSA financed my home, including the boundary wall. I have fully paid off my bond and continue to choose ABSA as my insurance provider.
Due to the vulnerability my family faced without security, I took the initiative to rebuild the boundary wall myself.
This process has caused me considerable time and emotional distress, as I could not afford to wait for HOC's response. I incurred expenses exceeding R20,000 and possess all necessary documentation to substantiate these costs. While the wall is not entirely finished, it is sufficiently secured.
I am extremely frustrated and dissatisfied with ABSA's handling of my claim. How much longer must I wait for a response? It has now been a month since I filed my claim.
Note I will be writing to hello Peter and all the social media about your treatment
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Yours sincerely,
Pastor Mpho. Putu (MBA)
