No respect for privacy
I have been harassed by Absa Insurance incessantly over the last few weeks. They have been calling me everyday for weeks somehow bypassing my True caller app. In the last 2 weeks, I have answered each call when I was able to, in the hope that I could do something to stop the calls. On each occasion, I politely advised that I was not interested in getting insurance and also requested that they remove me from their data base as I had not given them consent to use my personal details for any purpose. I should also add that I ave no relationship with Absa, nor any pf its afiliates, hence I can only deduce that the company has obtained and is processing my personal information ********ly and in non compliance with POPIA. At what point will retailers stop? I am aware that they have POPIA policies and that they are "supposed" to be adhering to the Act, but how can they be? I am fed up with having to receive at least 10 sales calls a day (sometime at night and even on Saturdays. I have blocked them but they simply call back using another number. All I have to say to ABSA is that, given their blatant disregard for my rights to privacy, there is no way that I will ever trust them as financial service providers to keep to their confidentiality or other ethical undertakings. No thanks Absa, my business will be going to others who have listened to me when I have asked them not to call me.
