No calls Answered for Cancellations

I have been trying to cancel my Insurance for the past three (3) months. I called numerous times. On average I hold for more than 30 minutes holding for the cancellations department. I eventually sent a cancellation email. The first two emails had no response. Upon sending the third email, I received an email with ref C-***1, this was 8 days after sending the email.

I need confirmation of cancellation as I have postponed with my new insurer for three months
