Misleading sale and unauthorised premium deduction

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service received from ABSA Activate.

On 16 April 2026, I requested the cancellation of a policy taken out under what I believe to be misleading and *****ulent circumstances. At the time of the sale, I explicitly stated that I already had existing insurance and would only proceed once the existing policy was cancelled. It was clearly agreed that the new policy would only come into effect on 27 May 2026.

Despite this, the policy was activated on 17 April without my consent, and subsequently, the first premium was deducted completely against the agreed terms. I would never have proceeded had I known I would be paying for two insurance policies simultaneously for the same vehicle.

Since then, I have made multiple attempts to resolve this matter. I have sent several emails and contacted the call centre requesting cancellation, yet as of 21 April 2026, I have received no response or confirmation insofar as the policy being cancelled.

This lack of communication and disregard for agreed terms is absolutely disgusting! This raises serious concerns about the sales practices of ABSA Activate.
