Marvic Panel Beaters Richards Bay Poor Workmanship on Insurance Claim- Don't let your car go there
I am deeply upset with Marvic Panel Beaters, apparently a Toyota Approved Panel Beater. Marvic received my mom's Toyota Hilux Raider (bought brand new in December 2023) for repairs after an accident on 29 July 2024 claim no ***. Marvic kept the car for almost 4 months way past the courtesy car timeline whilst "busy with sourcing parts and fixing the car". My mom has experienced a lot of emotional strain and trauma due to this incident such that she is in hospital right now as we speak. She had no transport for 3 months. She had to fight with Marvic so that they can have the car fixed. When she did, they took about 2 weeks to "fix" the car. The once new car has had shoddy paintwork done and is now getting some rust. My mom had to take it for inspection with Toyota just after the car was released from Marvic to find that Marvic's poor workmanship has eroded the car value by more than R50 000. A complaint has been lodged due to the claim process being too lengthy and many loopholes identified. The windscreen, damaged from the July accident, was returned unfixed. My mom is using Scorpion Legal to complain because it is too much for her. I am posting here because too little has been done. Seemingly, Absa Insurance is still going to investigate. For how long? The car is even showing rust on the left hand side (left fender protector) in the bonnet. Speedy reaction is required. Complaint number reference C-***8
