Horrific service from ABSA idirect insurrance on a building claim due to storm damage to ceilings.

It has been 3 weeks and 3 assesors later since the damage occured to ceilings at my building insured by ABSA idirect and no outcome, poor ******** communication, appointment of *********** (2.3/5 rating on Facebook Reviews) assesors with not outcome.

I have numerously, both telehonically and on email informed ABSA about the seriousness of the matter and that the ceiling can collapse at any time and injure/kill someone and they simply cannot understand the urgency of this claim. They simply dont care about their clients that PAY them to be insured and that should have peace of mind in the unfortunate event of natural damage.

I am utterly frustrated and have no choice but to warn potential customers to rather consider other reputable insurers and to take this matter further with the insurance ombudsman.

The ignorance an incompetance is most frustrating, hope to win this claim with the help of the ombudsman and move to a reputable insurer soonest.

ABSA repied with a templated response not addressing any of the concerns raised except the timeframe, they will ook into the matter and give feedback by 3 May 2024, that is another 4 days latere bringing their "acceptable" timeframe to at least 24 days after receiving the claim with the risk of injury when the ceiling completely collapses continuing. Absolutely unnaceptable.

It is now almost a month later and still at risk of the ceiling collapsing and hurting/'killing someone. Since my last post I reveived a message that the matterr has been escalated to higher management by Godfrey Ndou. I received a call to my surprise on Friday 3 May that the claim has been approved and that CLC will give me a call to appoint a contracor to perform the work. Not to my surprise they called me 20 minutes later to tell me they havent received approval and need to send someone to have a look at the ceiling to get the claim approved. I rep**** that I spoke to ABSA 20 minutes ago and they told me that the claim has been approved and that I am really confused by thier call. An hour later we received an email from Godfrey with a case rrefrence of C-***3 informing us to expect an update by 8 May.

The ceiling is sagging morre and more by the day and I wouldnt be surprised if it totaaly collapse before 8 May when we will apparently get an update.

I wish ABSA will understand the urgency of this matter and that people will get injured if they do not URGENTLY, AFTER MORE THAN 30 DAYS after the claim was lodged get a contractor out to perform the work.
