Extremely Disappointed with Absa Insurance Company (Activate by ABSA)

I am extremely disappointed with the handling of my insurance claim handled by Nosipho Nxele. My vehicle was involved in an accident on 5th Jan 2025 and since then, the process has been riddled with delays, poor communication, and unfair treatment.

The insurer decided to write off my vehicle, citing repair costs of R112,000, which they claim matches the vehicle's market value. Despite disputing this decision and asking them to provide breakdown of their repair estimate they refuse to reconsider and have been unresponsive to my concerns. Worse, they stated that if I dispute the write-off, I would be liable for escalating towing, storage, and car hire costs—expenses that keep increasing due to their delays.

Attempts to reach the claims department have been futile, with calls being left unanswered and emails ignored. This lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable. I have had to escalate the matter to the Ombudsman, but the frustration and financial strain caused by Activate by ABSA are beyond words.

I expected better service and fairness from a reputable insurer. At this point, I would not recommend Activate by ABSA to anyone looking for reliable and fair insurance services.
