Don't trust the vile and despicable Absa!!! Customer service is not a priority to them
In recent times there seems to be a trend in the insurance industry where some companies treat clients like filth. 2 incidents come to mind, the first being the Momentum incident, where the company declined a claim due to non disclosure, even though the death of the victim had absolutely nothing to do with the illness that wasn't disclosed. The second incident regards Old Mutual and the trauma they put a family through by essentially forcing them to bring a dead relative's corpse to their office to prove that he was in fact dead.
Absa, it seems have now also become emboldened to follow in the steps of these companies. On January 15th 2020, my father put in a claim as there were cracks appearing all over our house. A month later on February 17th, they sent correspondence to confirm that they had sent someone to inspect the damage. Since then, these no one from Absa got back to him. Yesterday, March 12th, my father called the company who Absa sent to inspect the damage and was advised that Absa declined the claim. This raises so many questions about Absa's conduct, such as why did they not have the decency to inform him that the claim was declined or why was he not given the reason for it being declined.
This disgusting conduct is a violation of the TCF (treat customers fairly) principles. Absa, like Momentum and Old Mutual have no regard for the needs their clients. I have yet to come across an incident where these vile companies are committing such despicable acts to white people. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth and leaves me wondering if perhaps companies are racially profiling their clients when it comes to claims.
