Disputing Fridge Damage Claim: Load Shedding Not a Factor
Our claim for a damaged fridge was unfortunately rejected by Absa Idirect. Their reasoning, conveyed over the phone, was that the damage resulted from an electrical breakdown caused by load shedding.
We firmly disagree with this assessment. Our email response to Absa Idirect, addressed to two specific claims consultants, highlighted that our fridge was protected by a solar system and therefore not impacted by the load shedding. We have followed up twice via email but haven't received any feedback.
They needed to reevaluation our claim, considering the presence of the solar system which negates their initial assessment but no response from them.

Our request is quite straightforward. We are seeking clarification as to why you are stating that the fridge's electrical breakdown is due to load shedding when the fridge is powered by the solar system and not affected by load shedding. The reasoning behind this rejection of the claim is evidently false, yet you are referring us to the ombudsman. You cannot substantiate your findings, so we must spend time inquiring with the ombudsman? Seriously?
