Complete disappointment

I am EXTREMELY disappointed with Absa insurance home owners department. I have lodged a claim on Sunday the 12th of October after a power surge incident. The company sent a man over who then claimed he needed to change the Circuit brackers and the DB box, and I would need to pay R4900 for this which I would get back from the bank. I then sent an email alerting the institution. I got a call and a second assessor came. He confirmed the damage to the appliances and informed me that the bank may not pay me back because the guy was not supposed to take money from me. I only trusted him because he was sent by then. I emailed them again and a Third guy was sent over to assess and work on the DB box. I am still without a stove which was damaged by the incident. This means we must live on Take aways, no one is saying anything about the replacement of appliances and the refund. Worse part i call them every day and never get an answer. Today their WhatsApp service tells me the case was finalized on the 29th October. Its the 3rd and I am yet to receive any communication from them. I called again just now and was on hold for over 15 minutes until the line went off.

I will be sending an email to the insurance Ombudsman regarding this matter.

My washing machine was also damaged. I called MiWay and they sent an assessor. 2 days later I have received a voucher to replace the machine.

Be wise when selecting these companies. I will also be moving all my assets to MiWay.

Been spending on average about R180 a day on take aways since I don't have a stove to cook. From the 12th of October. Do the calculations.
