Bad Service From Absa Orsula Trading CC

I recently logged a claim for a burst geyser on Wednesday, the 29th of April 2026, at about 17:02, The company Orsula was assigned to come out, and they arrived at my property after 10:30. They conducted their investigation. They advised me that it was not a burst geyser, and that the Vacuum breaker valve was leaking, and that they needed to replace the multi-pressure control valve. This, however, did damage my ceiling in one room. They went out and bought the materials for the geyser. They replaced it, and in good faith, I have signed the form that they completed their work. I also advised the Orsula team that the water was still leaking from the overflow. They advise me that there was still water in the pipes and that it will subside. They left shortly after 12:00.

About three hours later, at about 15:30, I could still see the water running out of the gutter from the overflow. I immediately called Orsula's office to advise about the issue. Orsula came out, had a look at the valve, and they replaced it, and said that this would solve the issue. While the Orsula team was there, I showed them that the overflow was still running with water. They gave me some bull**** answer that my gutters were dirty, and that is why I am still seeing the overflow. And that they can turn the water off. Now, it is the eve of a long weekend, so who would want to be without water for the long weekend? I felt betrayed and insulted at the same time. I immediately called ABSA Insurance to advise them about the issue while the plumbers were still there. They basically said that there was nothing else they could do and that there should be a second opinion.

While I was on a call with Absa Insurance. I physically got onto the roof to see why the water was running and to prove that my gutters were not dirty or blocked, and lo and behold, the water was streaming out of the overflow. She then organised a conference call with the Orsula team as they were sitting outside waiting for a call from the Absa insurance. We spoke, they got onto the roof, and saw exactly what I was seeing: the water was streaming out of the overflow. Again, they said that it is not their issue and that they have changed the valve. Hah? The Absa Insurance lady said that she would call the people that supplies the valve to come out and see what the issue is with their product, and that she would let me know what is happening.

Then last night, after I had a shower, the geyser started making a funny noise that went on for hours, and I could not bear the sound of it, and I have some recording of it. Eventually, at 21:00, I had to switch the main water off. The noise went away. This morning, I switched the main water supply back on, and the noise has been going on.

The time now is 11:45 on Friday, the 1st May 2026. I did not receive any call or follow-up. The water is still running out of the overflow. Who is bearing that cost?

I am a paying customer, and this is the service I receive!
