Bad service

I’m writing this with a heavy heart,my dad had been banking with ABSA from 1988 to date but the service he received recently has been very disappointing. He lost his job a few years back and could not afford to pay some of his debit orders,he then went to the branch to advise that the fees the account is accumulating are very high and can’t pay anymore. They then advised that they will close that account and write off the fees and open a savings account for him as it’s much cheaper,however he just found out that the account was never closed and there’s still an outstanding balance reflecting that needs to be paid.

When he asked he was told he needs to pay it off but that was not the aggreement when he went to the branch,he went back to the branch and asked to speak to the manager but was told they not available.

@ABSA please do something about this as it’s taking a stroll on my dads health as well.
