Absolutely Disrespectful Disgust Treatment of Clients
ABSA iDirect has the most shocking treatment of its client base I have experienced in many many years. Having had multiple vehicles insured with them over the years, on 9 September my vehicle was involved in an accident resulting in it being written off. After more than I week I had to contact ABSA iDirect to learn this as there had been no communication whatsoever from them as to the outcome of the claim. Following on from an extremely unsatisfactory call and mail saying my vehicle was a write off I was instructed to send all paperwork together with spare key to Johannesburg. Following on from this the documents and keys were sent via overnight courier but were rejected due to an incorrect address, however this was the correct address as supp****. Numerous phone calls over a number of days eventually ensured the documents were successfully located, and the letter of loss was issued. However all of this happened over a month-end and a monthly premium was deducted, despite the write-off having occurred 21 days before month end. I had been advised by one of the multiple call centre agents I spoke to, the policy would be cancelled and any debits between date of write-off and settlement would be refunded. Needless to say it is now the 18/11/2024 and still no refund. It does not end there, On 31 October another debit for the November premium period was deducted, being payment for a policy which was firstly supposed to have been cancelled, and secondly had no insurable items for which said premium had been deducted. Following an email, I revceived a call from ABSA iDirect and was advised that only the November refund could be processed. I declared objection and the agent said my call would need to be referred higher up to another department. I was placed on hold and after 10 minutes the call terminated. That evening I received an SMS stating the policy had now been cancelled. The followoing day I received the standard email saying "ABSA was sorry to see me go" but the policy was now cancelled. Stil no refunds of premiums deducted for a policy which had no assets being insured and should have been cancelled. On Monday 11 November I once again advised ABSA iDirect of the situation and received a response advising the matter had been referred to the Cancellation Manager. To date there has been no response from the Cancellation Manager, but then how naieve of me to think he/she would action it promptly. Currentle ABSA iDirect is indebted to be for 2 months premiums on a policy which had no insured items. It is absolutely shocking and dismal that the staff treat the clients whose premiums and continued business puts food on their tables. Do ABSA iDirect and their staff have no respect?
