ABSA’s Failure to Provide Credit Life Insurance
I am deeply disappointed with ABSA’s handling of my vehicle finance agreement. Despite documentation indicating that credit life insurance should have been included, ABSA failed to provide this coverage. Now, I am being harassed by debt collectors while ABSA drags its feet in addressing my dispute.
The facts are as follows:
I’ve been a loyal ABSA client since the early 2000s, with a spotless repayment history. As a Private Banking client since 2019, I expected a higher standard of service. ABSA failed to properly disclose or ensure the inclusion of credit life insurance in my agreement, violating consumer protection laws. After raising a formal dispute, I’ve received no meaningful response from ABSA. The delays are unacceptable, especially considering the National Credit Act obliges you to suspend collection efforts during a dispute. These failures have caused immense financial and emotional distress for me, the sole provider for my family. Despite my loyalty to ABSA, I’ve been left to deal with ongoing harassment by debt collectors while waiting for basic accountability and action from your side.
I demand an immediate resolution, including:
A full review of the original agreement to confirm the exclusion of credit life insurance. A pause on all debt collection activities while this matter remains unresolved. A fair and timely resolution, with redress for the harm caused by your negligence and delay. ABSA, this is a disgraceful way to treat a loyal client. Your lack of urgency in resolving this matter is appalling. I have escalated my complaint to the relevant authorities and will not hesitate to pursue further legal action if this is not resolved immediately.
