Absa insurance rejects claim after heavy rain

Me and my family live with my in laws. The last rains caused some of our ceilings to fall in. There were some small leaks in the past, as all houses will have, that we fixed and rubberised. Absa rejected the claim, stating it's old damage and no maintenance was done. This is after I showed the assessor the maintenance that was done, and he also took some pictures. We've been living in this house for nearly 11 years now and never claimed.
