ABSA INSURANCE AND THEIR POOR WORKMANSHIP

As the clouds gather once again this mid-morning I brace myself for another bout of the typical Joburh torrential rain. You see, normally I love the rain. I long and even pray for it especially after the winter season. But now I dread it because of Absa Group Insurance.

You see I had the unfortunate event of having my house burn down in Sept 2023. Thank the good Lord, Absa Groupq q qq Insurance approved the claim. And yes I thank God because I've heard much too many horror stories when it comes to claims. Anyways I digress.

Long story short, they appoint a contractor for the repairs. Many fights along the way, some we win, others we compromise and others we are forced to take to the @insurance Ombudsman (who happen to be totally unhelpful, like zero investigation yoh). Anyways the ***** that is the Insurance Ombudsman deserves their own post. We get back to the house 9 months later under duress because even though we are unhappy the Insurance informs us effectively they are done with us. We move in.

To this day( 1yr 3months later), we have no COC from their appointed contractor. When it rains, it pours literally inside the house. I don't know what kind of shoddy job this is from their trusted contractor. We have mould forming inside our cupboards.

We report these as they should fall within the 1 year building warranty but Absa Group informs us that because we have taken the case (on totally separate issues that have nothing to do with quality of work) to the Insurance Ombudsman, they will not bother to look at our case.

What was a tragedy has continued to haunt us because of total incompetence by Absa Group Insurance. Yeah so while some of their executives will be watching the rain from the corner offices, I will be busy with buckets and blankets because normal swabs and mops can't do any justice to the floors that will be soaking wet. Did I mention that these are wooden floors???
