ABSA IDIRECT IS A **** AND WORSE INSURANCE
Absa idirect is the worse car insurance you can ever sign up for. I'm warning you don't fall for them. I had a second hand Nissan NP200 that i insured with Absa idirect. On the 11th Novemebr 2019 i was sold a full comprehensive insurance by absa idirect and been paying my premiums consistently without failure, in June i changed to third party insurance without any hustle or what so ever. On the 8th of October 2020, my NP200 was ****** at a street parking in Boksburg. I reported my predicament at the police station and made a claim to my insurance the following day. A Men by the name of Heinrich Smith from Absa Insurance loss adjustment department called to inform me that he is handling my claim. The claim was delayed for more than 4 weeks without any updates. I was then called by the very same Mr Heinrich Smith and he told me that he has information from Pretoria West Vehicle investigation unit that my car is a "Clone" and therefore they can't make any payout. The only thing they can assist me with is to reimburse all the premiums i paid. My question here is, when i bought the car, i successfully made change of ownership at the traffic department with vigorous check of the vehicle. Nothing like that was picked up.When i signed Absa idirect insurance i was never told by the sales consultant or for that matter written on the schedule that i should take my car in for inspection yet Mr Heinrich Smith claims say its s well know fact that with 48hrs a car need to be taken for inspection. I means it's my first time signing up for a vehicle insurance in my life, how do they expect me to know that if I'm not instructed? How was i even to know where to take the vehicle for inspection? My other questions is how do they prove that my car is a clone and the other vehicle that they say is with the owner is an orginal? What if the very same car that is driving around with my registration vehicle is actually mine. I've been in and out of the country, been through boarder inspections and hard road blocks and i have never been told that my vehicle is a clone or encountered any problem whatsoever. Mr Heinrich Smiths also explains that if absa Idirect has not done the inspection immediately after signing up for insurance they normally do it at a scene of an accident or when making a claim. My argument here is that my vehicle is not a clone, if it is,Absa should to me without reasonable doubt that it is a clone. I'm in possession of my original registration papers, car keys and tracker records to prove my travells and existance of the vehicle. Absa Idirect behicle is a **** and always looking for a loop hole just to avoid payments. I insured my car to have cover and peace of mind if anything happens to my vehicle and did not sign up for Absa Idirect for them to save my premiums so that they can pay me back all my premiums when i lodge a claim.
