ABSA Idirect insurance is nonsense
Here i am again complaining about AbSA Idirect Insurance. Two diamonds( Big and a small one) fell out of my wedding band so i put in a claim on my household contents insurance. I was told to get a quotation for diamond replacement (R6558) and so i did and submitted it. then they requested a case number and asked where it had fallen out and so i submitted the case number and obviously i wouldnt know where it had fallen out but only noticed when i was at home. Today i get a call from the person facilitating the claim Porcia Farret and she says that the claim is rejected because she ASSUMES that the ring value is above 10000 because of the quoted amount of 6558 for 2 diamond replacement. i asked her how she reject a claim and closes it without facts because she has no idea what material my ring is made from or how many diamonds i have on my ring or even what carrat the diamonds are. I bought the ring for 7999 which i disclosed on the claim submitted. It seems ABSAs first instinct is to reject claims and not assist their customers. I have had this policy for so many years and all the claims i have submitted have been rejected. they are always many stories coming from them. On top of it she says the policy states on page 22 of Ts and Cs that jewelery amounting to above 10000 must be specified. the documents that were sent to me the last time i made an ammendment (20/08/2020) do not even contain such info so why must i always complain about the same company on hello peter for them to try assist.
