ABSA Home Insurance Worst Insurance

I am not one to complain or do this but I need to make people aware of this and how they are treating their customers.

My mother has been an ABSA client for 40 years but the service she receives from ABSA Home Owners Insurance is pathetic.

She lodged a claim last year, the first claim in 10yrs, just to be told it is “poor workmanship”, Stating that the walls are wet due to the roof not being sealed properly and not enough drainage. Therefor ABSA can’t pay the claim due to some clause in their fine print.

My mom accepts the decision and fixes everything on her own account and to their specifications as to why it was rejected.

The contractors did waterproofing on the roof, sealed the roof and added extra drainage. Thinking that if something might happens she can show ABSA that she tried everything to fix it and give her the benefit of the doubt if something should happen.

Not even a year later Potchefstroom experiences one of the heaviest rainfalls over December period and the roof leaks into the house while she is away.

Lodged a complaint with ABSA same story different day.

ABSA can’t pay the claim because of the roof not having a “slope of at least quarter inch per foot”. Went to the complaint department and same story they are standing with the rejection.

I am extremely dissapointed in Absa home insurance. I recently moved my own Absa Home owners insurance and can urge everyone else to move.

If you don’t want to believe me go and read the online reviews about them and see for yourself how many complaints they already have.

The only word I have to describe my moms’ experience is shocking.
