ABSA Home Insurance - Taking Advantage of Elderly Citizen

My mother registered a claim on her home loan insurance, which she has been paying for more than 5 years.

No response till today. The claim was registered on 23 April. A plumber went through and noted there was a plumbing problem in the bathroom. When you walk on the tiles, there are 6 tiles that feel like there is water underneath. In the kitchen, there was a water leak from the tap outside, which caused damp walls that led to kitchen cupboard damage. No feedback on fixing these issues

The follow-up was done; we received an automated response stating that a consultant will call within 2 days. No one has called as yet; 2 months have passed. Every month, the premium deduction is made. My mother is 86 years, Is ABSA taking advantage of elderly citizens, knowing they have no strength to fight these things?

Good day, Nthabiseng

Thank you for assisting with my claim so far. However, the claim has still not been resolved.
The assigned service provider informed me that the claim was referred back to ABSA because the contractor appointed to carry out the repairs does not service the area where we live.

When I contact the ABSA call Centre, I am placed on hold for extended periods without receiving any assistance. In addition, the telephone number provided in your previous email is incorrect and does not go through.

As a customer, I do not believe I should have to follow up between different parties to resolve this matter. I would appreciate it if someone could please contact me urgently to explain the way forward and assist in bringing this claim to a resolution.
I look forward to your prompt response.
