Absa Bank Insurance ****
I'm struggling to get my refund after Absa insurance deducted me twice on the 13/04/2024 and again on the 31/04/2024.
On the 13th April 2024 I contacted Duglaus Edmund who was my sales person and I told him I was struggling to make payment since I was still unemployed and I was waiting for uif benefit claim to pay me. My debit order was always the 15th of every month , after speaking to him he said he would transfer the call to customer services who would assist.
I spoke to a lady who told me there was nothing they could do as my policy had lapsed because of the unpaid premium in March(of which I understood)
After speaking to the lady I went back to Duglaus Edmund, who told me not to worry if the policy had lapsed because he had another policy he would offer of which he did and the new policy debit order was going to be deducted end of April 2024.
On the 13/04/24 my sister had transfered some funds on the account and to my surprised that evening i got the notification that Absa indirect insurance deducted an amount of R1680 from my account ,when i went to the branch the following day they couldn't assist. Again on the 31 April there was another deduction of R1700 with reference Absa external insurance which was the new policy and i was ok with that one.
I had been calling Absa since April trying to get my refund of R1680 as they were not supposed to have deducted since that policy had lapsed.
I had been begging them to listen to the recording on the 13/04/2024 to get the correct information as there was no arrangement in place to deduct R1680 from my account.
No one returns my calls from Absa and I had been sending emails with no responses I need feedback urgently
