ABSA AIP Policy – Extremely Frustrating Experience

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with ABSA regarding an AIP policy that I did not knowingly request or authorise.

I provided proof of my existing insurance as requested, and ABSA confirmed in writing that they had received it. Despite confirming receipt, I am now being asked for the same confirmation/documentation again instead of simply resolving the matter and providing the information I have requested.

What is even more concerning is that I have repeatedly asked ABSA to provide proof of the alleged communication that was supposedly sent to me before the AIP policy was activated, including evidence of my consent or acceptance. I have not received this proof.

If ABSA can confirm that they received my documentation, why am I being asked to provide the same information again? I expect a financial institution to keep proper records and be able to provide evidence of how and why a policy was activated on my account.

I am requesting that ABSA urgently:

Cancel the AIP policy and confirm that no further premiums will be deducted. Refund any premiums deducted for a policy I did not knowingly authorise. Provide proof of the alleged notification sent before activation. Provide evidence of my consent or acceptance. Stop repeatedly requesting documentation that has already been confirmed as received. This has been an unnecessarily frustrating process, and I am now escalating the matter as a formal complaint. I hope ABSA will address this properly rather than continuing to send me in circles.
