16% policy increase - cannot get hold of retentions team!

My policy was reviewed in June with policy price increases. Usually Absa notifies me of the changes and any subsequent price increases. This year I was not notified. I contacted Absa's contact centre on 2 July (the day after the increased policy price was debited from my account). I spoke to a gentlemen who said to me that "I should know that my policy gets reviewed annually". Sure - be that as it may, I asked him to get Absa's retention team to contact me as the price increase was quite steep - from R1268.90 to R1472.25 - a 16% increase! That is nowhere near inflation.

Today I tried again to contact Absa's contact centre - I was put on hold and then transferred to Absa retentions. Then back to the main contact, then transferred again. Back and forth. Can Absa retentions contact me please to re-negotiate the policy costs - alternatively, I will have to take my business to another insurance company.
