Unwanted messages

I recently opened a new cellphone contract and got a new number. With networks recycling numbers, I am getting a lot of messages intended for the previous owner of this number. I called Identity and requested my number be removed. They were very unhelpful and said they can't find the number. I get spammed with messages almost every other day. Can someone from Identity please fix this? I am not Johannah. I own this number. I don't want your messages. This is harassment.
