Missing Item - No Resolution

I had an item missing from my online order. After numerous phone calls, store visits, and emails, the item is AWOL. Furthermore, I have to pay the price for an administrative issue on the company's side i.e., the item order number on the system (which is used by Identity) not matching the order number provided to me (by Identity).
