MISLEADING ADVERTISING BY IDENTITY STORE MANAGER AT N1 CITY

Yesterday, the 30/10/2017 I was forced by a Store Manager at N1 City Mall to pay R360 for a shirt that was reduced to R199. She claimed that a stranger must have had access to their price tags; the stranger attached the price tag with their stapler on the item and the stranger stepped on the stepping ladder to hang the shirt amongst the reduced shirts.

She refused to account for whatever happened to her store and blamed it on a stranger. She removed the price tag, took the shirt away, when I asked for it back, she demanded that I pay the original price and I did. I informed her that I'd have to report this, with no care she said "go ahead, I'm not giving you my names though". The cashier just stood there helplessly and continued to ring all my items.

Thank you for your post.

Upon receipt of your post, we immediately conducted an enquiry into the concerns you have raised.

The matter was investigated but we were unable to confirm how this garment was marked with the mentioned price. The manager considered this to be an unintended error and therefore apologized to you in this regard.

In accordance with the requirements under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), this price error was a once off and we do thank you for pointing this out to us and allowing us to rectify it.

Whilst we acknowledge your frustration in this regard we trust that you are able to understand our stance in this regard.

Should you require assistance with any other matter of concern, please contact us on *** or via email on ***.
