I went to identity eastgate for their 50% sale.I took a red tshirt which had 3 prices on.the original price was 250, 199 and the further markdown was R14.I was told its a mistake of which was not mine.the cashier called the assistant manager by the name of Sibongile who tried to concince me dats its a mistake.I refused to listen to her because I was supposed to pay the amount I saw on the item.she later called Kgabo the store manager who was so rude on the phone he also told me it was a mistake.I asked for the area manager's number from him by thr name of Salome.she was also rude and told me she'll never give me that tshirt for that amount they priced on the tshirt.she also said I can go to NCA to report her.I even took a photo of the item before Sibongile tamperd with and put a zero with a pen where as the item's pricing was with a red marker.i'm not happy because its on the consumer protection act.
Thank you for your post.
Upon receipt of your post, we immediately conducted an enquiry into the concerns you have raised.
The Store Manager investigated this matter but was unable to confirm how this garment was marked with the mentioned price as it was the only one on the rail with that price noted. The manager considered this to be an inadvertent error and therefore apologized to you in this regard.
In accordance with the requirements under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), this price is not a price that one can expect to pay for a garment on sale at Identity and as such is a human error.
Whilst we acknowledge your frustration in this regard we trust that you are able to understand our stance in this regard.
Should you require assistance with any other matter of concern, please contact us on *** or via email on ***.
