interest bearing/ higly dissapointed

on the 13/02/2016 i went to Identity in blue route mall to pay my balance of my account. When paying i asked the cashier do i need to call the head office to close my account see that i paid the balance, and was advised that no the balance is paid up so the current balance is R0 no interest will be added on the account. yesterday while speaking to a friend about it she advised me no i need to close the account as Identity will charge interest even if the balance is paid up not knowing this i called the head office and the lady advised me that my current balance is R125.03. How ta hell is this possible i was mislead by the consultant in the shop not knowing that its a interest bearing account but this is ridiculous R125.03 interest over 3 days what is this 100% interest i would understand if it was over a month but 3 days is messed up. so now i need to pay this when i never even used the account after paying my balance. this broad day light *******. I'm disgusted by this you think you become debt free but the debt just continues by the ridiculous interest rates.

Hello mienah,

Thank you for your post and affording us the opportunity to resolve this matter for you.

Upon investigating your concerns we established that you were regrettably misinformed regarding the settlement amount on your Identity account as the balance provided, did not include the interest amount due which was indicated on your statement issued 12 February 2016. This amount however only reflected on our system on 14 February.

We acknowledge your frustration in this regard and can verify that the interest amount has subsequently been reversed from your account thus your account has been settled in full.

We trust that we have adequately attended to this matter for you and whilst we were unable to reach you on the number provided in your post we kindly urge you to contact us via email on *** should you have any further enquiries.

Kind regards,

Lynn
