false hope not cool
I received an sms telling me that I am legible for a R50 voucher as a gift from identity for my upcoming birthday. So today I happily go to the store in the spirit of this delightful gift from identity only to find out not only has my account been closed without my consent but I wasted so much time in the store for a gift I could not receive. I understand the reason for doing it as I have not used it for an extremely long time but what ticks me off is firstly why do you keep sending me sms's reminding me of sales, send me this disappointing non redeemable voucher n lastly despite telling identity numerous times of my change of address, them still sending my mail to my previous address. So in a nut shell they basically saying my consent does not matter regarding the account but I'm good enough for bulk sms's to up their sales. So the question begs is there no order in the It department or is identity simply a money making corporation that they will do anything to get you in their stores n manipulate you into buying something? Thanks a lot for the 'birthday gift' and time wasted.

We can confirm that, since the account has not been in use for almost four years, it was automatically closed by our system on 27 February 2015. Prior to this; however, we believe that a letter was issued to inform you of our intention to close the account on 19 February 2015.
