Daily nightmare

Today I went to Identity to settle my old account, I was told my account was handed over to their collections and I should call their collections department because the account is closed, when I call them I was told my account is no longer with them, they can't tell me which collections company my account has been handed to so I'm just stuck with Identity reflecting on my ITC and affecting my credit rating all because of R1650, this is second I'm reviewing them and it is extremely draining because it's affecting my credit score and I can't do anything..Hello Peter, please assist with this
