Close customer account without notifying customer

After 3 or 4 efforts I changed my surname in 2009 back to my ****en name but didn't get a new card right away. After about 18 months I received a new card but the new card was still in my married surname. During this time I didn't buy anything at Identity. Now when I visit the Woodlands branch to buy something I discovered that my account had been closed without any prior notification. I queried this at the branch and they phoned head office but apparently this is the situation, if you don't buy anything in 12 months, they close your account without any notification and they are not interested to re-open the account. I have accounts at Foschini and Truworths and also didn't buy there for up to 5 years and when I start buying there again my accounts were still open. I can't understand that a clothing store with so many competition can afford to chase a possible customer away so easily without any worry in the world. Don't they have any business sense at all. But then again as I notice from Hello Peter's evaluation that they are not a responding company that makes also sense to me.
