Ideal Prepaid no care for environment. Meter leaks 800 liters a day !

In June our owner of the house decided to put in prepaid water and electricity meters by Ideal prepaid .1 They put it in so scew and did not care

2. When they came to straighten it they caused a leak in the council meter and even knowing that it was a continuous loss of water took over a week to fix.

3. When they fixed the council meter then they caused a major leak from their own meter resulting in a water loss of over 800litres a day !

4. And all this time I am paying R60 for 2400 liters loss every 3 days ! Which is a months supply of water

5. They are aware of the water loss and still say they can only come out in a week and I must keep paying for the water loss !

6. When we have a shortage of water In our country!

Good Afternoon vivian-aumuller-perry,

Trust you are well.

We have liased with our Installations Co-ordinator regarding this case as we do not take complaints and/or concerns lightly. Service is extremely important to us and we strive to always do better.

The Installations Co-ordinator was notified on Monday 31/07/2017 at around 10am – 11am about the leak on the meter, this was after the plumber had already gone out to the property to attend to it before.

A new meter has been issued to replace that meter and an appointment has been booked for this evening at 5pm.

We will follow up with you in the morning to find out if all went smoothly and without fail.

Kind Regards

Thank you for your reply, it seems that only if I throw my toys out that we get action.

it was logged Friday but the lady that dealt with it went home and messages were left on her phone.

Even on Monday AFTER Ideal was made aware that the meter has lost another 2400 liters over the weekend they still told me only Friday.

After requesting that ideal at least then pay for the water loss as why must I keep footing the bill of over 6 months water supply wasted in one week, was still afforded no compensation , so then was it Moved to Wednesday and even this morning was told they cant give me a time, but insist I be home , stayed home the whole day off work and this is the first time I'm hearing a time as I was not informed even.

it angers me as I do not even water my garden to save water and Ideal has caused water loss the first time with the council meter and now Even worse and now almost 10000 liters until they decide it's serious to book an urgent call out all the while it's costing me money for your employees mistakes and have not been offered any compensation or even vouchers while I have to wait for Ideal to fix the problems.

Every minute , hour/day you delay to come out is massive water wasted.

Regards

Vivian

Hi vivan-aumuller-perry,

Thank you for the feedback given.

The Installations Co-ordinator, first came to hear of this case when Marycke from Out of Africa called her on Monday, midday.

Arrangements were made with Marycke regarding the time and the booking on the mentioned Monday already, thus she should have informed you of this, as at the time, the Installations Co-ordinator, did not have your details.

Marycke was told that the first available appointment we had was for Friday, but due to the urgency in this matter, we arranged for an earlier appointment.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and frustration caused to yourself in this matter. As mentioned before, we strive for excellence, however, we know it is not always possible. We try our best to achieve it though.

Kind Regards
