ETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICE
I traded my vehicle (not a Hyundai) and bought a second hand vehicle (also not a Hyundai) through Rudie Koekemoer at Hyundai Weltevreden Park.
1) The registration documentation and number plates were not ready by the time I collected the vehicle and I was issued with a temporary permit for the vehicle. When the registration documentation and number plates arrived I was already on holiday with the vehicle and could not collect the aforementioned. Seeing that the temporary permit expired before my return date, Rudie arranged to have the registration documentation and number plates couriered to me at no cost.
2) I took delivery of the vehicle on 6/12/2019 and on 9/12/2019, I noticed an electronic fault on the vehicle and immediately recorded the fault and notified Rudie. We arranged that i take the vehicle to the dealership on 10/12/2019 in order for it to be attended to. There was no sign of the fault when I took the vehicle to the dealership and the diagnostics showed that everything was in order. We agreed to attend to it in 2020 once I return from my holiday as they need more time with the vehicle seeing that the "appearance" of the fault is sporadic. I arranged to take the vehicle back to the dealership on 15/01/2020 and they provided me with a courtesy car while my vehicle was attended to. Hyundai Weltevreden Park could not identify the fault and decided to take the vehicle to the manufacturer's workshop as the vehicle is not a Hyundai. After a couple of days at the manufacturer's workshop, they also failed to diagnose the vehicle as the fault did not appear. Myself and Rudie agreed that I use the vehicle as is and not the conditions when the fault appears as this might trigger the fault, and I took receipt of the vehicle on 22/01/2020. On 31/01/2020 the vehicle became unusable due to electronic protection (limp mode), and i had the vehicle towed to the manufacturer's workshop closest to my house on 04/02/2020. The diagnostics indicated that a battery as well as the catalytic converter needs to be replaced. Rudie was notified of the assessment and he arranged to have the vehicle towed to their premises. Long story short, they delivered my vehicle in working condition yesterday 17/02/2020.
Although it was extremely frustrating and an inconvenience not knowing what is wrong with the vehicle, Rudie and the team at Hyundai Weltevreden Park really went out of their way to accommodate us and have the vehicle sorted out. Not once did we have to argue/fight to have the problem attended to.
From my experience, I would highly recommend the service of Rudie (and the team) at Hyundai Weltevreden Park.
