Regret setting foot at Hyundai The Glen
I bought a car Hyundai i10, around October 2020 at Hyundai The Glen Dealership. When I buy the car I was told that should I experience any kind of a problem, I must bring it back within a window period of 6 months. First day out the dealership I encountered a problem when I was about to pour in gas at the gas station. The tank couldn’t open. Luckily the salesman was still there and we were ordered to bring it back the next day and it was fixed. Six weeks later we encountered another problem. The car was overheating, the temperature was going up and down. like we sent it back for the tank, I expected the same with the engine problem. I thought this was a reputable dealership, there is no way they could trick customers by ******** them like this.
We sent it back as we had an agreement with the salesman. Now the tunes changes, no one knows what we are talking about when we mention the 6 months story that we can bring it back for any problem. Which is the reason why I didn’t see the need for the warranty at that moment if I still have the six months to take it back. Now we must pay for the repairs. I feel betrayed by Hyundai The Glen because if I have to now pay over R20 000 on top of what I paid already when buying. They tricking customers with the prices that they put on display. There is no way after such a short period of time , less than two months the car already has so many problems. As much as it is a second hand car but it is not fair to me as a customer. I have bought second hand cars before at other dealerships, we have never experienced what I am going through right now.
it was November 2020 when I return the car for repairs and I received a quote for over R20 000. I was very furious and I told them that I would rather take my car and get it repaired somewhere else that to allow them to keep reaping me off like this. I didn't even have that R20 000 because I took all my savings to buy a car that was in an appalling condition but displayed and priced as a perfect second hand car. Then they told me about stripping and quoting that I must pay for. Reaping off is continuing, so I decided to let them continue with the repairs anyway. That was after realizing that there is no way out of this **** for me, they got me. It was in February when I give a go ahead to repair. I paid R5000 so that they can continue with repairs which is still not done to this day, 3 months later. Every time I ask when am I getting the car back the answer would be that I must pay first, while they are waiting for a part. I told them that I will pay the balance as soon as they tell me that the car is ready for collection because it is clear that they can still keep it for another 6 months.
The sad part is that the car is been in the sun outside from last year. I don't know what have I done to The Glen Dealership to deserve such treatment after supporting their business. Every time I think about this car my heart bleeds. I regret setting my foot at that dealership. I even hate going to the mall because I have to pass and see my car outside getting old and ruined by rain and the sun. if the plan was to punish me, it worked very well because I don't sleep going through a serious depression because I took my last cent down the drain.
