Not trustworthy - Service Centre ****

I brought my Hyundai Venue in for a major service on the 16th of November. Other than expecting the standard major service to the level I got at KIA, as I previously owned a Kia Cerato before buying this car in June, I brought to their attention that the electronic power steering was making a noise and that water was collecting on the passenger side floor of the car, and I had no idea how its getting into the car.

The service agent took notes down and said they will look. Eventually I got a call saying that their "experienced mechanic with years of dealing with these kinds of things" said it looks like rats have gotten into my aircon system and that there is "anti-freeze" in the water(Water which was odorous and clear), possibly due to a rat chewing through a cooling pipe(Car was not having any engine overheating issues though). That I will therefore need to rebook and pay R4000 for the dashboard to be stripped to identify the issue. They later let me pick up my car also stating that "The noise is gone"

5KM down the road, the noise was back.

Once we got a week of dry weather, so no rain for me to assume its that getting into the car, I found water was still collecting. This perplexed me, then I clicked, "Is this not condensation from the Aircon?" - So this morning, I took it to an Aircon center, in 5 minutes they unblocked the aircon drainage system, the root of the issue. For Free. There is no longer water collecting and the noise on the electronic power steering is no longer as bad.

My only conclusion is that the so called experienced mechanic, has experience in talking nonsense. Flushing and checking the aircon is supposed to be standard part of a major service. KIA even did it on minor services.

My trust of Hyundai Roodepoort is now in the trash, and I will recommend people avoid this service center to avoid being bullsh*tted

I had high expectations but my disappointment is immeasurable, not happy.
