*********** Management

I work with various car dealerships in South Africa as a Sales Executive Spotter and on the 1st of November 2022, I approached Hyundai Roodepoort to facilitate a deal, for my client (Mr Nyoni), as they had the vehicle I was looking for. Lee-roy Sibanda would be the direct Sales Executive for the said dealership and being the professional he his, was able to facilitate the first part of the deal between myself and Hyundai Roodepoort. The first part was the agreement of a minimum spotter’s fee of R5000 upon delivery of the vehicle – which Leeroy would get confirmation and approval of, from his manager and Dealer principal. Later, the vehicle would be delivered successfully on the 11th of November 2022 and as expected I would then be paid the spotter’s fee in no more than 2 days – so I thought! I would later receive a text from Lee-roy stating that there is an ‘issue’ with paying the spotter’s fee. From the lack of detail in the text and being used to dealing with competent and professional car dealerships from a comms perspective, I took it upon myself to put fuel in my car and drive to the dealership for clarity around this issue. Arriving at the dealership, I was directed to the Sale Managers office for the clarity I was seeking. I was met by a Sales manager (Justine Lee Rudman) who I felt was rude, obnoxious, and borderline ******. The fact that I am a young, black, hardworking, independent woman proved to fuel his antics, comments and overall negative demeanor towards me. With comments such as, “I should no longer bring my deals to his dealership”, “his not prepared to do anything to help resolve the issue” and my personal favorite, “I can do whatever I want” proved exactly how I felt. Such treatment from an established brand such as Hyundai is totally uncalled for and unheard of, but I guess its such employees that bring the dealerships (Hyundai Roodepoort) reputation and service into question. My intention for this email is to bring awareness to the public and higher management of such service and hopefully some form of resolution before taking the next step of approaching the small claims court.
