Shocking service at the Accredited Hyundai Service Center in Pinetown.
I am bitterly disappointed at the poor service and follow up at this service center. My daughter phoned to book her I10 in after the car started misfiring on Monday. When we arrived to drop the car off yesterday they had no knowledge of the phone call. Nevertheless the car was booked in. We heard nothing from the service agent until I managed to phone him 6 hrs later. The response I received from him was that my daughter must have pressure cleaned her engine and that is what caused the problem. I was also advised that this cost would not be covered by the extended warranty that she had bought. My daughter has only owned this car for a little over 2 months and I told him that there was no way she would have done anything like that. He was insistent with his story and so I asked to speak to the service manager Ryan. I was informed that he was not available but if I left my details he would contact me. He, up to today, has not contacted me. I tried again later to get hold of him and was either disconnected from the call or given the run around. I eventually went to the branch this morning to find out what was going on and why he had not contacted me. I was informed that the problem with the car was a damaged plug lead and they were trying to get another one. I asked again to speak to the service manager and was told he was in a meeting. I said I would wait but to no avail. After waiting for approx. 10 minutes I was told that he was not available to see me and they would let me know when the car was repaired. I took a picture of some of the signs that are displayed in the reception area. This one makes me laugh. It is headed Customer Promise. We promise to listen to our customers concerns.?? We promise to actively follow up with our customers requests.?? When you phone the Dealership there is a message that says if you are unhappy with anything that has happened or if you are unhappy with the service please contact the Dealer Principle Mark Torrance directly to resolve the issue. What a joke! Yesterday on 4 occasions I asked that if the service manager was not available could I speak to the Dealer Principle.?? Not a chance!! I cannot believe how bad and off putting this experience has been and am really thankful that I decided to take the car in for my daughter. I don't know how she would have been able to make any sense of what happened and I believe that she would have been totally frustrated by this service department. One thing for sure we will never visit or recommend the brand Hyundai or this service department ever again. Before my daughter took delivery of this car we were told that they had done a 100 point check on the car to ensure there were no latent defects.?? 2 days to find and hopefully replace a damaged plug lead??
