Hyundai's car fine on my trade-in. Not my fine. No meaningful action taken by them.
We were manipulated into upgrading our car when we had only come in to see if we can decrease our old car's instalment. 6 months after trading in and upgrading - not a bad car currently though but the manipulation and the higher cost is unwelcome - We got a fine in the mail for our old Hyundai car dated back to a pair of days after we had traded it in at Hyundai Pinetown. Only had 1 number plate attached, car was in an area in Durban where we never go and the fine came to R1000. Clearly Hyundai had not changed ownership of the car. Husband and I went to Hyundai Pinetown, tried to speak to the guy who traded the car in for us but he no longer worked there (but now he works there again, Adrian with the hicky tattoo). Denzel the manager tried to help by emailing the traffic department but apparently they don't respond to him but to me they respond in about an hour or less. Got a document from Hyundai stating when the car was resold to someone else but traffic department wouldn't take it as proof to reallocated the fine. Apparently the car landed up at Hyundai Hillcrest before resale. Months go by and nothing from Hyundai. They wouldn't take responsibilty. I am having to go back and forth to nag them for documentation. Now traffic department wants to see us in court to explain why we don't pay and why the fine isn't ours to pay. This is Hyundai's fault and they are dodging but they won't get away with this. I'm not paying a fine I didn't earn!!!!
