Consumers Beware when Purchasing vehicles from Hyundai Pinetown.

I had recently made a decision to trade in my old vehicle for a new vehicle. I had initially wanted an automatic. At the dealership we had agreed upon on a trade in value. I had selected a vehicle and requested the offer to purchase. and was advised by the sales representative that he could not send me the offer to purchase and that I could only view the document when I came to the dealership.

I was then told that the document for my contract were drawn up and that I can cone to the Finance and Insurance Specialist to discuss the contract. When I went to the dealership I was shown the contract and upon viewing the contract realized that the projected installments were out of my budget and then requested that the contract be drawn up for a manual car instead. At no point in this discussion was an invoice presented to me or a detailed list of the extras added onto my agreement given to me. I signed the contract in good faith after viewing the estimated installments. I was told to collect the car the next day.

When I went through to collect the vehicle , I was handed a stack of documents to initial and sign. Upon viewing the invoice I queried some of the extras. No clear answers were given to me.

I then went back on the Saturday. Clinton Munsami ( the manager )then informs me that the extras of R 20 000 is the shortfall for my trade in. When we discussed my trade in the shortfall initially calculated was R 8417,26. At no point did Clinton Munsami inform me that he had decreased the trade value. If he did I would not have proceeded with the deal.

I sent an email to Hyundai Pinetown listing my concerns regarding the conduct of the whole deal. Only when I contacted someone from Hyundai SA was there a response sent from Clinton Munsami. The response was not even sent to me. A response was sent to everyone except me. I only became aware of the response once my financial advisor sent me the email.

I queried why I was left off the email and got no response to the question. I had wanted to return the vehicle as the terms upon which the contract was drawn on was not according to what we agreed. Clinton Munsami responded in a very hostile manner that I cannot return the vehicle as he has footage of me taking the vehicle. I responded to him that If he has footage of me taking the vehicle then surely he has footage of me signing a contact with no offer to purchase or invoice being presented to me. He did not respond after that.

I was then contact by the Dealer Principle , Sidney Francis. I set up a meeting with him for the next day. I attended the meeting with my two financial advisors. Sidney Francis's conduct is just as unprofessional as his manager's. He could only identify that Hyundai Pinetown should owe me R 5000. He was not will to address any other concerns regarding the conduct of the deal. Clearly he has no idea how finance works. Paying me R 5000 ids not going to assist me in the long run, as this discrepancy is already added to the contract for finance will will incur interest. Furthermore if you agreed that Hyundai Pinetown owes me R 5 000 it means that the whole deals should be redrawn. We had not reached an resolution.

Consumers need to be aware that if they intend to purchase a vehicle from this dealership they need to be fully informed of the steps of how vehicle deal should be conducted and not be deceived like how I was.

The representatives at the Dealership leave a consumer felling helpless as they are fully aware that they will not face any disciplinary action for their disgusting and ********* conduct.
