Pathetic service
If I knew buying a Hyundai would be the beginning of my nightmare I would not have bought it.
I bought a Hyndai Venue in Nov 2022 at the Hyundai Airport branch, the worst decision I have ever made. I have been experiencing issues with the clutch which I then booked the vehicle in at the Hyundai Boksburg branch around the 1st of Aug 2024 to get it checked and fixed, the nightmare got worse. I have never seen a service as pathetic as this.
The service consultant by the name of Jessica was the one who assisted who seemed to have been very friendly and helpful at the time but less did I know what would come after. After the vehicle was dropped off she failed to keep me updated of the progress until I has to call in to follow up and was told she'd call me back which she didn't. She then called the next day being the 2nd of Aug and had the audacity to lie to me and told me that she had tried calling me the previous day but the calls weren't going through, which I rep**** its highly impossible but it was at that moment that I realized I was been made a fool off. She proceeded to say that a part had been ordered which will be covered by warranty and will take 21 days, I ask if I would be given a courtesy car and she said they policy does not allow that, which I then asked how I am going to get to work because I use my car almost everyday but it was clear that there was nothing she could do. I then asked her that she sends an email which I would have to prove to work and ask that I work from home since I have transport issues, which she emailed.
I then called a few days later as I was being inconvenienced and asked if I could not use the car in the meanwhile because I obviously need it for work but after I left her messages and called the dealership trying to get ahold of her numerous times I decided to go there and asked to speak to the service manager and a gentleman the name of Tshepo assisted, whom I had met and explained the issue of the vehicle of the day I dropped it off. upon trying to find out what the issue was exactly, Tshepo assured me that there was nothing wrong with the car and mentioned that he's betting on the clutch master as its the only thing he can think off otherwise there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car. I asked if the car was safe for me to drive because my life is a priority just like everyone else's he assured me that it was safe to drive. He then asked Jessica to check if wash bay can assist with washing the car quickly as it had been parked outside and gathered dust, she came back with the keys saying "they said they did it" I didn't have much time to wait anyway as I had to rush to work because I was already extremely late. I get to the car and noticed it was dusty but again, I did not have the time to be asking Jessica questions, I was already fed up with the service.
I then drive to work and noticed the bonnet was shaking and assumed it could be because of the wind but was strange that it had never happened before, only to get to work and noticed the bonnet wasn't closed properly. Next time, it would be great to check before handing the keys over to the client because it could have easily flipped and hit the windscreen. so much for putting your customer's lives in danger, but it didn't end there. As I was driving I noticed there was a funny sound everytime I turn but assumed maybe its because of the dust, I then took the car for a wash later that day but the sound didn't stop. A sound that I had never heard before I took my car to Hyundai Boksburg, now there's even more issues.
I received a call on the week of the 15th Aug advising of the part that was delivered and scheduled for Friday the 23th Aug. I dropped my car off and asked to speak to the technician which I was advised Tshepo was offsick and I spoke to a different technician whom I briefed about the issue I was experiencing and the sound that I have been experiencing since I collected the vehicle from them, luckily he knew about the issues of the vehicle and knew what car I was talking about and to my surprise he said "We found the issue with the car, the sleeve was leaking" I then told him Tshepo said there was nothing wrong with the car hence I took it and he said "There definitely was a problem hence the part was ordered" and continued to say that "it was dangerous" for me to drive, I further told him that I experienced the same clutch issue on the Tuesday the 20th and this time around the car switched itself off. What got to my nerves are the lies I was told previously that there was nothing wrong when a fault was obviously reported and fact that my life was at risk as I continued to drive a car that wasn't safe to be driven.
I was told it shouldn't take too long but would definitely get the car back the same day being the 23rd. I had no updates from Jessica as usual, nothing new there. I then called the dealership and asked how long it would take, I could hear the receptionist ask Jessica and she said at 16h30.
I arrived around 16h30 and car was still being fixed. I had to reschedule an appointment I had for 17h00 because when I asked the technician and Jessica how long it'll take they said 20 minutes. it was never 20 minutes, I then told her I was leaving and that I would fetch the car the next morning being the Saturday of the 24th as I could not further reschedule my appointment and she assured me that the car would be ready.
about 10-15 minutes after I left the dealership she sends me a text message which read" Good day, there seems to be another problem on your vehicle we need to replace another part on the vehicle, we can only load this for Monday, your vehicle is not going to be ready for tomorrow, sorry about that will give you a call on Monday morning"
I then rep**** the next day saying I'm afraid that wont happen but there is obvious one tick and its clear that the message was not read. I then called the dealership on Saturday and spoke to Tshepo, the initial question was "How do I get to work on Monday" and he rep**** he could not answer to the question. So I am being inconvenienced yet again and nobody at Hyundai cares.
I then asked to speak to the F&I Manager as advised by the lady that works at the reception after I asked about the process to lodge a complaint and give back Hyundai their vehicle and that they pay the bank back they're money because I don't know what it it that I was sold and because the vehicle was initially bought at the Airport branch I was advised to speak to the DP of that branch.
I called Hyundai Airport and was transferred to Mike the Service Manager and I relayed the issues I have experienced and how fed up I am, he then suggested I speak to the DP who was unavailable at the time and was told he's on a call. I left my details and asked that he calls me back as it is very important and no one bothered calling me.
The moment I had issues after I was sold the car by Shaun from Hyundai Airport and had to continuously called to follow up after my permit had expired and was told there were many complaints about him, that alone should've been a sign that I was signing myself up for nothing but a nightmare.
I want nothing to do with Hyundai ever again and demand that they take the car back and pay the bank back their money. I do not mind paying for the cracked windscreen which was caused by a chip but I no longer want that vehicle. Who buys a brand new car only to encounter such issues and a service as pathetic as this? How many more problems am I going to encounter with this vehicle? I can only imagine what more problems a year from now. I will ensure I spread the word and will advise family and friends to stay far from Hyundai.
