****MED, DISHONESTY AND BAD SERVICE

So I will explain to you what has happened here in writing as I did via telecom earlier on.

I purchased a Grand I10 from Hyundai Boksburg. The sales agent that assisted me is Abdul. (Very lovely gentleman). Abdul and I liaised with each other via WhatsApp, and I did the whole application process through him with the F & I's assistance as well, her name is Ayeesha. On the day of the purchase, Wednesday 25th May 2023, I arrived at the Hyundai Boksburg dealership, obviously arranged with Abdul, that today the transaction will take place. I was trading in two of my vehicles, Nissan Livina & Hyundai I10 as the deposit. I handed Abdul the keys to both of the vehicles so that they could obviously complete their inspection, whilst this was taking place, I went into the office with both my Aunt and my Sister, and of course myself. In that room was Ayeesha ( f&I) & Abdul was in and out, I assume checking the vehicles that I traded in. The F&I then explained the contract and the terms of which we had a lot of questions about as normal people would, we asked questions like, can we get a better interest rate, the F& I kept insisting this was the best they could do for me with my credit score and it's what I qualify for etc.... Ayeesha then asked us if we would like to perhaps take a minute and discuss this with my aunt as I think we were all slightly flabbergasted and this being my first time buying a new vehicle, she was there to guide me and assist. So we took a minute and walked outside, we had noticed that the Evaluator AKA ( used car manager) JP, and his team had evaluated the cars and he had test driven it and it was all systems go. After that minute, we went back to the office to sign off the deal but upon entering, the F& I said, my aunt and my sister are not allowed in the room and only the buyer can sit in the room whilst she continues to explain the contract and I sign the contract. (This to me was already such a sly move). I kept quiet, I was unaware of the balloon payment but irrespective, I signed the deal and accepted it. We were then just about to go through to the next steps and collect keys for the new car (which should be an exciting moment for one but slowly became a very stressful and uneventful situation). After us signing the deal Abdul walks in and says put the deal on hold, the engine on the I10 is "ceased", he advised they will need to replace the engine, this was now after I signed the deal/contract. I then said that it's not possible for the engine to be ceased as the car had just come from Hyundai Midrand, Abdul then advised that his team still wants to purchase the vehicle and we can still use it as a trade-in but at R10 000 - R15 000 less. So the deposit/trade in of course went from R105 000 to R95 000 which of course increased the monthly installments of the balance and the contract and finance agreement slightly changed. So I signed not 1 but 2 contracts due to this. I didn't think too much of it as I was highly frustrated and just wanted to get this deal done. Later on, my aunt and I had a chat and she was bitterly disgusted and appalled to say the least with how we were all treated throughout this process especially by how the F& I "pulled the wool over our eyes", and more the level of attitude my aunt received from Ayesha. You know if I look back and think about it, how many other young adults are getting curled up into this without actually knowing what's happening. Never the less, I signed for the deal and I accepted it. We cannot "undo" that of course, which is also never not once what I have been complaining about. It was more the treatment received. So as my aunt and I had a chat, she called the dealership to perhaps lay a complaint or maybe just a "heads up" to voice how she felt and for this to be a learning lesson. She then got to speak to JP as the dealer principal was off sick. Whilst they were on this phone call, I phoned Hyundai Midrand as mentioned earlier, I took the car there for an assessment to repair, I phoned them to ask for more details on the assessment report and to see if the engine could have been ceased, as per Hyundai Midrand, whilst they were working on the car, it most definitely was not ceased, as well as my mechanic of which has also worked the on car said the same and in fact, I drove the vehicle to the dealership, how could it have been ceased? We (Aunt & I) phone JP back and advise this, JP then stated he did not once say that the engine was ceased. Jp had a terrible attitude with my aunt and myself. He **** and story kept changing. I now of course found this extremely weird and I felt something sly or sneaky happened here. I then spoke to Jp and said that as per Abdul, he advised that you stated this, I then took the liberty of phoning Abdul and Abdul mentioned the exact same thing confirming that Jp advised this. Whilst Abdul and I were on a call, Jp was phoning to Abdul, I was then promised a call back, to date I'm still waiting for feedback.

Jp then called back and acknowledged/admitted that there had been some sort of a problem here which clearly indicates this whole situation being extremely ********* and totally shocking from Hyundai Boksburg side. He then advised us to bring the vehicle back so that we can cancel the agreement, where in the world will a dealership take the car back?! That means both parties lose money Because it is now not a new car but a demo or pre used. We then thought about it and called JP back, we requested that due to the ********* and bitterly disgusting experience we had received, we wanted to reach an amicable solution. We requested the following

No. 1 Better interest rate No. 2 No balloon payment (advise us how much more deposit we can put to get rid of the balloon payment) No. 3 Cash back for the Value of what was offered as the engine was not ceased as claimed by the dealership. So we were in fact **** to, that is totally *********. They took advantage of the fact that I did not have a lot of knowledge regarding these vehicles and they tried to make a fast move as we call it.

After numerous amounts of phone calls now between, my aunt, my uncle and myself, Jp completely lost his respect and I very nicely told him, I don't appreciate his tone with me and he told me he actually doesn't care what I think, he is the only one who can evaluate vehicles and there then completely changed his story and advised he did not say the engine was ceased. So this totally became a "he said, she said" story and we are treated with absolutely no dignity whatsoever. I am appalled. I did not want it to get this far, and as mentioned before and to the dealership, the contract is signed and the deal is done, We are not trying to pull away from that. I am only trying to bring this to the dealer principals attention so that they are aware of how disappointed I am and more like how we were ****med. I am actually so angry with this whole situation. We were *****ed and taken advantage of. When we discussed this with Jp further, it was really becoming a back and forth argument and to me, I work in the service department to be treated and dealt the way this situation was handled. I asked Jp what he suggests, hoping we can reach an amicable solution (once again). He then spoke to my uncle and advised that we buy the I10 that I traded in for the amount he purchased it for. I then thought about it and I was going to go ahead and close this deal but after numerous attempts to try and get through go Jp, he has not taken our calls and seems to be avoiding us. It's common decency to get back to someone, or if he doesn't know how to deal with this then escalate this to the relevant person so that we can take this further and get the necessary clarity and hopefully a way forward here. I have never ever experienced this before. I want to go on every social media platform and explain what I went through, this situation has been so stressful to the point where I don't even know what to do. It actually puts my whole experience of purchasing a new car. I want every person to know and be aware of this situation so that they know what to look out for because this was so low. It's totally unacceptable, ********* and really just disappointing. I mean my list can go on and on and on.... You are welcome to call me if you need clarification on anything or more detail
