We purchased a car less than five months ago, and from the very beginning, our experience has been fraught with issues. Upon taking delivery, we were not even informed about the recommended service intervals, which left us guessing about proper vehicle maintenance. Soon after, we noticed that a LED light was malfunctioning on what was supposed to be a new car. Additionally, the dashboard time display was non-functional, and the odometer was stuck at 30 kilometers, failing to register any movement. Initially, we accepted these issues and allowed the dealership to fix them. After resolving the problems, we inquired about the appropriate service interval. We were told it was every 15,000 kilometers. However, when the car reached 14,700 kilometers, we found ourselves in Mpumalanga, and by the time it got back to us, the odometer had read 16,000 kilometers. We acknowledged that there was only a slight delay of 1,000 kilometers. To our surprise, we later received a phone call from the dealership stating that we had actually delayed the service, as it should have been performed at 10,000 kilometers instead of 15,000. Confused, we asked for clarification on this sudden change. "Who informed us it was 10,000 kilometers?" we queried, only to be met with silence. There was no sticker on the windshield indicating 10,000 kilometers, nor had we received any email confirmation from the dealership communicating this critical service information. Instead, we were abruptly told we would owe R2,000 for the service delay—an amount we felt was unjust given that the oversight was not ours. The branch manager, Bongani, did not provide any explanation, while Simon, the workshop service manager at Bedfordview, flatly refused to rectify what was clearly a mistake on their part. It's evident to us that the dealership intentionally withholds crucial information from customers, allowing them to slip past service intervals so they can charge extra fees, just as they attempted to do with us. Now, they've finally put a sticker in the car indicating when service is due, but why didn’t they do this from the very beginning? Who failed to fulfill their responsibilities in this process? We urge potential buyers to consider exploring options with KIA or other competitors in the market. We still intend to escalate this matter to the manager's superior to ensure our grievances are heard. As we were told, the type of car we purchased should have made it obvious that the service interval was 10,000 kilometers, which raises questions about how many other customers might have been misled or neglected in the same way.

Best Hyundai branch in JHB, with an absolutely great service manager. I have been visiting this branch for all my car issues, my service, my inspections. I just want to say over and above the excellent service from the consultants. The service manager Fayaaz Yusuf always makes sure I leave their dealership with a smile on my face and my car in a good condition. I just want to thank him specifically, it is not easy being a woman with car issues sot everyone is always willing to assist like you do. Thank you so much we need more people like you at Hyundai !

My son bought a vehicle from Hyundai Bedfordview. We purchased the vehicle with two sets of keys. A while later we released that the spare key did not belong to our vehicle. We returned the key, and they indicated that they would look for the spare key or replace it with a new one. It's now been three weeks we have communicated with the used manager and the dealer principal but have not received any update.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service and transparency from Hyundai Bedfordview. Not only has my car been with them for two weeks with very poor communication, but I recently found out that the car had previously been in an accident something that was never disclosed to me at the time of purchase. When I raised the issue, the dealership claimed they were unaware because the car came from another dealership. This explanation is unacceptable proper checks and full disclosure should be standard before selling a vehicle to a customer. I’ve tried to be patient, but between the lack of updates, poor communication, and now learning about the car’s accident history, this entire experience has left me deeply frustrated and disappointed. I hope Hyundai Bedfordview takes accountability and improves both their customer communication and honesty in vehicle sales
