Misleading “Premium Electronics Mystery Deal” — Let’s Hold Hyperli Accountable
I’m writing this post to warn others about my experience with Hyperli’s “Premium Electronics Mystery Deal.” Like many, I was drawn in by the promise of receiving a high-quality electronic item from reputable brands like Apple, JBL, Philips, and Nespresso. Instead, I received a cheap, low-quality product — a Xiaomai Smart Band 9 — that was nothing like the premium items advertised.
Hyperli’s advertising is highly misleading, using the logos and names of premium brands to create an expectation of quality that they have no intention of delivering. Their Terms & Conditions are set up to deny refunds, returns, or accountability — despite the fact that the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) in South Africa prohibits misleading advertising and unfair contract terms.
Here’s how you can fight for fairness if you’ve had a similar experience: ✅ Submit a formal complaint to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO): They mediate disputes between consumers and suppliers. ✅ File a complaint with the National Consumer Commission (NCC): Even if your first attempt didn’t yield results, a collective push might get their attention. ✅ Document everything: Save screenshots of the adverti*****t, your order confirmation, product photos, and all communication with Hyperli. ✅ Share your experience here on Hello Peter and social media: The more voices we have, the more pressure we can apply for ethical business practices.
I believe we as consumers deserve honesty and fairness. If you’ve had a similar experience, please comment below, share your story, and take action. Let’s stand together to hold Hyperli accountable and ensure that no one else is misled by their marketing.
Let’s stand up for our consumer rights — together, we can make a difference!
